For seven days straight, we brought our entire 17-person team together for Tiptap's annual offsite on Spain's sunny southern coast, our favorite tradition of the year.
Why fly 17 people to Spain?
Because remote first doesn't mean remote only. Sometimes you pack your bags, meet your people, and remember why the work matters.
Those seven days gave us enough inside jokes and magic moments to keep Slack lively and our faces smiling, even when we're back behind our desks.
Things we shipped
- Tiptap 3.0: Released the latest major version of the open-source Tiptap editor.
- Document Conversion: Improved the performance of our conversion services.
- Pages: Released a closed alpha of Tiptap Pages to render page layouts directly in the Tiptap editor.
- Tiptap AI: Improved the developer experience of our AI Agent services and built two proofs of concept for new AI features.
- Tiptap Templates: Prepared the releases of new editor UI components and a completely overhauled Notion-like template.
Special shoutouts
To Sarah, our amazing office and team manager, who organized the entire trip. Moving 17 people from Germany, Spain, and Indonesia to one spot, booking flights, cars, the venue, organizing excursions and chefs, it’s a huge effort. Everything went smoothly, and Sarah did a fantastic job!
To Dominik, for finally releasing Tiptap 3.0. It was a major release in every sense, packed with so many improvements GitHub couldn’t even auto-generate a changelog, it was too long! Maintaining one of the world's most popular open-source editor frameworks is a massive responsibility, and Dominik, you nailed it!
Until next time...
See you next year, location TBD (49% chance it's Málaga again 😉)
